South Pres is one of our recent projects, it is based in Cork City. We used multiple systems for this project including a frameless glazing system using point fixings, SG Curtain walling with both rebated and commercial power assisted doors, Aluminium windows, Rooflights, and Smoke ventilation AOVs (SHEV). We also designed a bespoke enclosure from stainless steel, aluminium and glass to house the tomb of Nano Nagle.
The Capitol is one of our most recent projects. It contains multiple elements and systems, these include;
Toggle glazed aluminium curtain walling with a solar control glass, curved glass, bespoke frameless internal atrium, glass balustrades, louvred roof lights, flood defence glazing, frameless shopfront glazing with glass fins, aluminium cladding and even a clock tower!
The Capitol is a prominent, vibrant building right in the heart of Cork City.
This large ongoing project in Waterville, Co.Kerry contains a hotel, clubhouse and holiday cottages. The curtain walling system used is a bespoke system developed specifically for this project to give slender site lines with an external feature capping to provide texture to the facade. Framed and frameless automatic sliding door systems along with high-performance rebated aluminium doors provide access to the buildings while bedrooms are fitted with a large 3-sided lift and slide door system complete with integrated glass juliette balconies and in-frame discrete background ventilation. A solar control glass has been utilised throughout the project in order to add to the aesthetics of the building and also control solar gain.
Floor to ceiling frameless glazing has been installed to the bar and dining areas, supported by glass fins in order to give uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The main entrance curtain walling has been designed using a composite mullion profile and is a ‘hybrid’ steel / aluminium system which was required in order to achieve the large spans and demanding loadings in the project. A hidden vent aluminium window system with integrated fly screens was used in the accommodation spaces of the holiday cottages to ensure an extremely slim sight line was achieved. Other elements of the building envelope that 2020 designed and installed on this project included an aluminium louvre system, automatic opening vents (AOV), and mullion drained curtain walling rooflight systems.
We designed, manufactured and installed all of the glazing elements in this 2,068m² Operation Facility for Merck Sharpe and Dohme in Carlow.
The glazing package consisted of our high-performance aluminium curtain walling system with a horizontal feature cap and solar control glass. Rebated aluminium doors and manual espagnolette openings were integrated into the curtain walling system to provide access and ventilation to the building.
The main entrance of the building contains a high-end revolving door system which is fully integrated into the surrounding curtain walling screen. Overhead there is a large glass canopy complete with safety glass and a discrete gutter and drainage system.
The large expanses of floor to ceiling glass floods the building with natural light while also allowing maximum external views. The solar control glass aids in preventing the building from overheating on sunny days.
